Maintaining the Automated Filter Tester
Warning: always disconnect power and compressed air supply before conducting machine maintenance.
Recommended Scheduled Maintenance
Every approximately 8 hrs of operation:
- Drain and/or clean the aerosol generator
- Fill the replenishment reservoir
- Clean the test fixture
Every approximately 40 hrs of operation:
- Clean the mixing manifold
- Clean the aerosol line between the generator and the mixing manifold
Every approximately 174 hrs of operation:
- Clean the aerosol lines
- Replace the flow meter coalescing filter, if necessary
- Inspect O-rings and Gasket in the test fixture
Every approximately 1040 hrs of operation:
- Check ion balance using charge meter
- Check and clean ionizer needles
- Replace the flow meter HEPA filter
Every approximately 2080 hrs of operation:
- Replace the compressed air conditioning filters
- Replace the ionizer needles, if necessary
- Perform service maintenance – refer to service manual
Replacing the Main Power Fuses
- Open the fuse cover and remove the fuse holder.
- For 115V fuse, replace with ATI Part Number 6400112 (5 x 20mm, 8 Amps, 250V, FAST BLO)
- For 230V fuse, replace with ATI Part Number 6400111 (5 x 20mm, 4 Amps, 250V, FAST BLO)
Replacing the Memory Backup Battery
- The battery is a 3V coin cell lithium ion battery type CR2450
- It can be reached via the service access panel on the right side of the machine.
Cleaning the Aerosol Generator
- Disconnect and remove the generator
- Clean away aggregate with warm water, a wet lint free cloth, or compressed air
- Blow dry using compressed air
- Replace the generator
Filling the Replenishment Reservoir
- Disconnect and remove the replenishment reservoir
- Fill with 0.9% by weight NaCl solution (100Xs) or oil reagent (100Xp).
- Replace the replenishment reservoir
Cleaning the Test Fixture
- Remove the screen from the bottom half of the test fixture
- Remove the tapered insert and gasket
- Clean away aggregate with warm water, a wet lint free cloth, or compressed air
- Blow dry using compressed air
- Replace the test fixture
Cleaning the Mixing Manifold
- Remove the Local Exhaust or canopy connection if using either one
- Disconnect and remove the mixing manifold
- Rinse the drip jar and mixing manifold with warm water
- Blow dry using compressed air
- Using the brush and a damp cloth, clean the upper part of the manifold
- Blow dry using compressed air
Cleaning the Aerosol Lines
- Disconnect and remove the aerosol lines
- Rinse with warm water
- Blow dry using compressed air
Replacing the Flow Controller Coalescing Filter
- Disconnect and remove the used filter
- Clean away aggregate with compressed air
- Replace the filter
