How do I set-up and operate my standard model 100Xs/100Xp?

Before You Begin

1. Check levels in aerosol generator. Refill if necessary with 4% NaCl solution (100Xs) or oil reagent (100Xp).
2. Check levels in replenishment reservoir. Refill if necessary with 0.9% NaCl solution (100Xs) or oil reagent (100Xp).
3. Enable operational power by switching the power entry module to the ‘ON’ position.
4. Allow to warm up for 15 to 30 minutes to ensure the heater and generator have reached their proper operating temperature.

Overview

• To perform a test on a filter, the filter must be placed in the lower part of the test fixture.
• Simultaneously placing a finger in each of the two electro-optical actuators on the front of the machine will close the test fixture.
• A test may be interrupted by insertion of a finger into either actuator.
• The test begins automatically once the test fixture is closed and the fingers are removed from the actuators.
• At the end of the test the test fixture opens automatically and the test results are displayed on the screen as well as the User Interface Port
• The system will check each of the values against the alarm settings and highlight the value in red if it fails and green if it passes. The data string on the User Interface Port will have a pass or fail indicator.
• The tester is then ready to perform another test.

7. Option to perform LSC calibration
8. Option to perform penetration calibration
9. Machine is ready for operation

Available Test Modes

Filter Test: This test will continue until the defined test interval has expired, an alarm condition has been met, or a user interrupt command is received.

Gravimetric Test: This test is based on initial and final mass of the test sample. The test sample must be weighted manually before and after.

Load Test: This test will continue until the predefined weight of aerosol particulate exposure has been achieved.

EN143 Test: This test follows the EN143 standard. It will load the filter with aerosol for 3 minutes then average the penetration measurements over a period of 30 seconds.
